Project overview
This animation appears inside a larger online course focused on safe patient handling and mobility for healthcare staff. It introduces key scenarios, demonstrates proper technique, and prepares learners for follow‑up knowledge checks and practice activities.
Role: Motion Designer / Instructional Designer
Medium: 2D animation for e‑learning
Audience: Nurses, CNAs, therapists, and support staff in patient care settings

Process
The animation was built from a structured training script and clinical guidance to ensure accuracy. Key scenarios were storyboarded first, then translated into an animatic to test pacing and clarity before final animation.

Throughout production, timing and framing were adjusted so that each action can double as a visual reference during the course. Captions and on‑screen labels were added to support audio‑off viewing and accessibility requirements.

Role in the learning experience
Within the course, this animation serves as the overview of safe patient handling and mobility behaviors. After watching, learners immediately answer questions about Safe Patient Handling and Mobility.

Educators can also pause on key frames to discuss positioning, equipment use, and alternative options during live in‑service sessions or group training.

Outcomes and reflection
This piece helps transform written SPHM into easy‑to‑understand visual of the program.

Future iterations could expand to additional scenarios, localization, or interactive elements to deepen practice and feedback within the course.
